Covid-19: Iyalode Alaba Lawson Provides PPE For Ogun Journalists

ABEOKUTA—  In order to protect men of the pen profession from contracting the dreaded novel coronavirus, the iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Mrs Alaba Lawson has distributed protective Nosemask to journalists in Ogun State.

Distributing the customised nosemasks to newsmen at the Iwe iroyin secretariat, Abeokuta, the Iyalode said journalists are part of the frontline workers during the pandemic as such needs every protection it can get.

She further appreciated journalists for giving the populace accurate information about Covid-19, adding that newsmen have further assisted the government in flattening the curve of the coronavirus in the state.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, NUJ Caretaker Committee, Mrs  Omolola Adeyinka thank Chief Lawson for standing by the union for the past 30years, adding that having her around has been a great succour to the union.

She further call on the state government and other good spirited individuals in the state to emulate her kind gesture, stressing that such can only spur journalists in the state to give their all in the fight to curb the spread of Covid-19.
