BREAKING: Ogun NUJ Federated Chapel Holds Congress Under New Caretaker Committee, Extends Olive Branch To Aggrieved Members

ABEOKUTA– The Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council today held a special congress to further discuss the modalities for the oncoming elections, while using the occasion to call on aggrieved members to come back to the fold.

Welcoming the members to the first Congress after it’s inauguration, the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Chapel, Mr Dada Olaonipekun thank members for the confidence repose in the committee to act also as the electoral umpire for the elections.

Olaonipekun further reteraites the desire of the committee to mend fence with the aggrieved members of the chapel in order to move the chapel forward.

In his words, “immediately the committee was inaugurated, we decided that it’s best for us to get across to the other party, so that we can both come together and forge a common force for the benefit of the chapel”

“As at today, the committee has delegated someone to meet with the former chairman, Comrade Niyi Adeloye so as to know what he wants. This is for us, a way to make our chapel great again”

The electoral timetable, nomination forms fees for the elections and other related issues were discusssd by members, with suggestions taken from the 17 members present.
