ABEOKUTA– The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aridan Construction Company, Engr. Omotayo Oyerokun has been awarded the National Outstanding Leadership Award by the Congress of Nigeria Youth (CONYO).
The award which was presented by the National Chairman of the youth Organisation, Amb. Abdmumeen Ibraheem in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital was in recognition of Engr. Omotayo’s outstanding commitment to excellence, youth empowerment and immense contribution towards development of Nigeria’s economic and development growth via the Construction Sector.
“We want to congratulate you for the well deserved honour from the Nigerian Youths. We also appreciate your support towards the development of Youths in Nigeria.
“You are our Icon of Societal Change, the one we can always rely on as a beacon of change” Ibraheem said.
Receiving the award, Engr. Omotayo stated that though he has in time past rejected some awards, it became imperative to accept this as it is coming from the youths of the country.
“I will like to say a big thank you to the Congress of Nigerian Youth for this great recognition. I will also like to thank Nigerian youths who shortlist me for this awards.
“I have in the past rejected a few awards because I feel I have not done enough and need to do more. But I will accept this award with joy because it shows that our passion to ensure we create a positive change is been recognised by the Youth.
“We are the first company (Aridan Construction Company) in Nigeria that runs a Degree Apprenticeship Program. It’s a study, work, learn and Earn program for most Youth.
“We intend to make this a national programs soon and hope other companies follow suit to reduce Unemployment in Nigeria.
“I will like to see a Nigeria were the excuse of My parent are poor but am brilliant is no more an excuse not to further your education and get a good Job”, the elated awardee said
