The South West chairman of Labour Party, Mr. Bode Simeon has stated that the removal of Comrd Abayomi Arabambi as the Labour party chairman in Ogun State stands, adding that his removal is in tandem with the constitution setting up the Party.
Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, Simeon who was the pioneer chairman of the party in Ogun State, said Arabambi was suspended by his ward chairman for anti party activities and as such he was saddled with the responsibility to ractify his suspension according to the party constitution.
According to Simeon, “I want to react to the statement credited to the National legal adviser of our party in person of Barr. Akingbade Oyelekan. Immediately I read the media report, I personally called Barr. Akingbade and he reported to me that he didn’t know what is going on in Ogun state here, I now told him that Abayomi Arabambi has been suspended from his ward and the LG and the report has been sent to my table”
“I am the pioneer Chairman of LP here in Ogun State and I’m now the south west chairman and everything is on my table and I have the power and authority to ratify what is on my table here as the south west chairman”
“Yes, if you look into our party constitution vividly, the ward chairman has power and authority to suspend any national officer and Arabambi has been suspended sometimes from his state executive, so now the zone and the LG chairmen have suspended him according to the constitution of our party.”
Speaking on why Arabambi was suspended, Simeon said “Arabambi has been participating in a lot of anti party activities and mal-administration of the party and he has no party exco with him, he had been parading himself as a one man show and there is nothing like that in our party.
“We have a party executives which Arabambi has nobody with him, he is the only one parading himself as a party executive using party name here and there to abuse, and do all sort of things that is not welcome in our party, so a lot of atrocities committed by Arabambi are not welcome by the party”
“Immediately the suspension was served, a letter will go to INEC, the Director of DSS and to the Commissioner of Police and all the security agencies that Arabambi should stop parading himself as LP chairman in Ogun State and anybody that deals with him is at his own risk. He is no longer in the party, he has been suspended longtime”
“If you go into our party constitution, you will see it there clearly that the party organ from the grass root has the power and authority to remove anybody from the state of National officer. Yes, Ogun Labour Party as a new executive and I think the Chairman for Ogun Labour Party now is comrade prince Wale Ogunsi, he is the acting state Chairman of Ogun Labour Party presently” he reteraites
