ABEOKUTA – Ten persons were reportedly dead in a fatal accident along Kara turning area of the Lagos-Ibadan on Tuesday.
The crash involves two vehicles with registration number, FKY898YF, Toyota Haice Bus Ash colour and an Iveco Truck Tipper Orange colour.
A statement by the Federal Road Safety Corps Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe stated that a total of 18 Male adults were involved, adding that 7 sustained injuries from the crash.
“The suspected cause of the fatal crash was excessive speed which lead to loss of control and the bus rammed into the tipper that was about negotiating the turning.
*The injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital for medical attention while the dead bodies were deposited at Idera Morgue, Sagamu.
“The Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga was pained over the fatal crash that could be avoided if necessary caution was put in place.
“He also emphasized that drivers should endeavour to take a 15 minutes rest for every four hours drive because fatigue has been a major cause of road traffic crash. He then Commiserated with the family of the deceased”, the statement reads
