ABUJA- The membership status of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and Local Government Information staff, and Public Relations officers in the Ministries under the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has been withdrawn.
This decision formed part of the outcome of the constitution review at the Special Delegates Conference of the NUJ on Thursday in Kano.
The delegates conference presided over by the President, Chris Isiguzo agreed to expunge the affected organisation and persons from its constitution.
The delegates however maintained that members affected by the new laws who are currently serving as officials would be permitted to serve out their terms.
