YEWA– Delegates of Dangote Cement Plc, led by it’s plant Director, Azad Nawabuddin has paid a courtesy visit to the newly crowned Aboro of Ibeseland, Alayeluwa Oba Rotimi Oluseyi Mulero Ilufemiloba Olokojobi III.
The delegation who delivered the congratulatory message from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Aliko Dangote, further appreciates the people of Ibese land for their hospitality and cooperation with the company.
Azad Nawabuddin that Ibese is the most peaceful among the communities that host Dangote Cement Plc Ibese, adding that every issue raised would be critically looked into and carefully addressed.
In his remarks, the monarch appreciates the CEO of Dangote Group (Alh Aliko Dangote) and the entire Dangote Community for the honor bestowed on him, saying that his tenure will usher in peaceful coexistence between the host community and the company.
“I am greatly honoured to received this powerful entourage from Dangote cement PLC Ibese to my palace today, I appreciate the efforts of Dangote in the host communities no matter how little or big it is”.
“It is however disheartening that Ibese land in spite of her enormous mineral resources, still lives in abject poverty like a butcher’s son that feeds on bones”, the monarch said.
He however urged his people not to fear to negotiate but at the same time not to negotiate out of fear for peace and progress.
The monarch also used the medium to pass across other important messages to the company.
He spoke on the need to resolve the legal tussle between the community and Dangote Cement Plc ibese, and to amicably settle the matter peacefully out of court in no distance time.
Other points he raised at the meeting includes the issue of memorandum of understanding (MoU), constitutional social responsibilities (CSR), relocation of the Oba Bamgbose market from its present location to a more conducive place for safety and security reasons, lack of water and good roads in Ibese amongst other sundry issues
General Femi Dada and some members of Aboro in council also took their turns to make different cases on behalf of the Ibese community. This ranges from security issues to the issue of blasting of limestone that are perennial with the community.
