ABEOKUTA– Two foreign Institutes, the Institute of Financial Consultants (IFC), USA and the Chartered Association of Business Administrators (CABA), Canada will on the 12th of December, 2020 honour some individuals, government and private organizations for their roles in the fight against the dreaded covid-19.
The event, slated for Bolton White Hotel, Garki, Abuja, the Nigerian Capital Territory is geared to encourage the awardee into doing more in the fight against the virus.
The Country Director of the Institutes, Adejare Somorin in a statement made available to newsmen stated that the two International professional bodies that are working to build and strengthen capacities and upheld ethical standards in the financial profession and business administration across the globe.
“IFC is a professional body for those who work in the financial profession and the members are employed in all sectors of the economy and make significant contributions to the efficiency of any business.
“The Chartered Association of Business Administrators is a not-for-profit professional body for business administrators.
“The Association has growing global presence with members employed in all sectors of the economy and makes a significant contribution globally”, he added.
Somorin further maintained that the award programme theme is ’Change Leadership: Strategy for Organisation in a Global Pandemic’, adding that within this framework, the program will center on the national experiences and focusing mainly on the current crisis and governmental responses.
“This framework included the following elements, institutional and organizational arrangements, the preparedness of the governance system to respond to the crisis (especially, the health care system), the need for better coordination between the different sectors and levels of governance,
“The interaction (including trust) between the different actors, the role of scientists and medical experts as advisers to governments, the communications with the public, and implementation issues’, he stated,
He added that, on annual basis, the two professional bodies recognize significant contributions to national, sub-national and international development in specific themes of the year for special award of excellence.
“Special award of excellence and leadership for effective governance and responsiveness will be made to individuals, Institutions and Governmental bodies that have made significant impact and contributions in addressing the socio-economic issues brought about by the novel pandemic in 2020”.
