ABUJA– Wardiere Oakmount, a prominent Real estate company, has announced plans to construct a N2.9 billion shopping mall in Kuje area of Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
This was made known in a statement personally signed by the founder and Chairman of Wardiere Oakmount, Kunle Ilori, and made available to newsmen on Sunday.
Speaking on his reason for embarking on such a massive project, Mr. Ilori explained that Kuje is a city positioned as a key commercial hub, adding that the development, which will feature an array of retail outlets and commercial units, promises to significantly boost the local economy and offer new shopping experiences to residents.
In the statement, Mr. Ilori further highlighted the support of the Abuja Municipal Area Council. He revealed that AMAC has committed to positioning the first fire-fighting trucks and a new fire station near the entrance of the estate, a prime location within the development.
The Valley is only a 4-minute drive from the prestigious 1,000-unit housing project, which was previously commissioned by former Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nasir El-Rufai.
He added that the Minister of the Federal capital territory, Nyesom Wike, will commission the project in March 2025.
Additionally, Wardiere Oakmount has unveiled plans for a landmark shopping mall in Kuje, “set to become the largest in the area. The N2.9 billion project will span over three hectares of land and house 188 retail stores and 87 commercial units. The mall is being supported by international brands and will be constructed by Murooj Al-Arab Construction, known for its high standards in construction.”
Quoting the Chief Engineer of Murooj Al-Arab Construction, Eng. Mustafa Ameer, stated that the company will bring construction techniques and standards from Lebanon and Dubai to ensure top-notch quality for the Kuje project.
The statement reads partly, “Kuje, a growing suburb of Abuja, has seen a surge in development. Its prime location places it at the heart of key areas, including Gwagwalada ”home to the University of Abuja and the Abuja International Airport.
“Currently, residents in Kuje, Gwagwalada, and surrounding areas have limited shopping options, often having to travel to Lugbe’s Shoprite for basic needs. This new mall will fill the gap, offering everything from groceries and electronics to luxury fashion brands such as Gucci and Fendi.
“With a new road being developed by the administration of President Bola Tinubu, Kuje is now directly connected to the airport via an 8-minute drive and also enjoys enhanced access to Apo and Gwagwalada. The mall’s proximity to key landmarks, including the Kuje Rice Mill and Kilimanjaro, further enhances its appeal.
“Kuje is rapidly evolving into a well-planned commercial and residential area, with strong prospects for future growth, making it an ideal location for the largest shopping mall in the region.”
