Ogun Amotekun Arrests Man For Unlawful Possession Of Firearms

ABEOKUTA– The Ogun state command of the Amotekun corps have arrested one Oko Ruben at Akinjole junction of Ewekoro in Ewekoro Local Government area while riding on a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration number ABJ 425 VR, strongly believed to have stolen.

The 51-year-old Ruben was arrested after a stop and search was conducted on him. A kitchen knife and a face mask was found on him.

According to a press statement made available to newsmen by the corp’s deputy commander, Aina Oluwakayode, a search warrant was also executed at the suspect house at Akinjole.

Recovered from the house includes, 46 0.30mm Live Beretta Pistol Ammunition, One  Henry West Multipurpose Engine, One Face mask, Two Axes, One Kitchen Knife, and a Hork Saw and Wood Saw, 

Also recovered are one Army Camouflage jungle hat, Four Hand gloves, One Tecno Spark 9 Android Phone, One Zenith ATM Card, One UBA ATM Card, One Blue Bank Card, One Home 3310 Cell Phone, Three Nokia 1661-2 Cell Phones, One Hele 1408 Android Phone, One Xmobile Cell Phone, One Samsung Android Phone, and One Ok Cell Phone.

“Having being satisfied with the level of investigation from our end, the suspect is to be immediately transferred to the Police for appropriate action.

“Meanwhile, members of the public, and the good people of Ogun State, are to advised to be very watchful of persons they accommodate in their residences, to avoid complicity, as ignorance of the law, most times is not an excuse.

“Equally, we are advised to be patient with one another in the situation confronting us as a people in this nation. We are to keep away from all forms of frustrations, depressions etc, and move on with life, and not to allow present circumstances and predicament overtake our sense of Judgement”, the statement reads
