LAGOS– As the Local Government Elections draw nearer in Lagos State, one of the young shiny light in Amuwo Odofin Local Government area, Remilekun Samson Aremu (RSA) has thrown his weight into the contest.
RSA as fondly called, is an holder of a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Economics from Universities of Ilorin and Lagos respectively. He also holds the Associate Membership of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), and Institute of Chartered Economist of Nigerian (ICEN), and currently doing his professional certification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
It is with the burden of funding solutions to problems in his immediately environment, Amuwo Odofin that he created the Amuwo Solution, essentially with the welfare of Amuwo residents in mind. He has helped in mid-wifing the group into a colossus in the local government and testimonies abound.
It is this diversity that Remilekun Samson Aremu through the Amuwo Solution platform seeks to encourage and promote the general welfare of the indegenes and residents of the local government.
He seemed to be dissatisfied with the way issues that bothers on the youths and women were been neglected, so with other like-minded youths from different ethnic background formed Amuwo Solution to provide leadership and direction for the people of the area.
RSA is an experienced professional with passion, character and drive for delivering at set deadlines. His work life spans across accounting, administration, and has developed skills and experiences in Manufacturing, Distributing, Telecoms and industrial sector.
He is skilled at working within approved budget and is not afraid of taking full responsibility of issues under his control. He has a proven reputation for excellence, and usually inserts huge momentum into all his endeavors which he believes is the way to achieve success.
Indeed, this can be seen in the achievements of Amuwo Solution, realizing that they do not necessarily have to wait for the government at any level to provide these ideals, the members rallied and put resources together to complement the government effort, and to achieve their aims and objectives.
So far, Amuwo Solution has initiated and organized various programs that has touched the lives of the youths, the elderly and widows in Amuwo Local Government Area.
Some of these programs are includes, the August 3rd 2015 Amuwo Solution Free G. C. E Holiday Coaching class for 173 students preparing to write their ordinary level examination. The August 23rd 2015 distribution of safety reflective jackets for motorcycle and keke marwa operators in Festac Town and environ to reduce the spate at which these riders were being knocked down by vehicles at night.
Others includes the Independence Day health walk on the 1st of October 2015 titled Independence Solution Fitness Walk and Free Vital Organ Test to ascertain the health and fitness level of residents. Over 250 residents attended the free organ test. The payment of two months’ salary of Youth corps members at Festac College to lessen the financial burden on the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the school.
The platform also organised a football tournament tagged Amuwo Solution Football Tournament from the 13th to 20th December 2015 to encourage talents within the local government and engage the minds of the youths. A two day (13th May to 14th May 2016) empowerment workshop titled Amuwo Solution Online Digital Marketing designed to teach youths the rudiments of digital marketing Distribution of empowerment and relief materials to widows in the local government on the 17th July 2016.
The season 2 of the Amuwo Solution Free G.C.E Holiday coaching from 1st of August to 3rd of September 2016 in 5th Avenue Primary School in Festac Town.
The significance of these programmes is that they are free to any Nigeria who is willing to participate, all they have to do is just to show up at the venue of the event irrespective of political or ethnic background. Amuwo Solution certainly has developed a life of its own, perhaps bigger than the conveners, and cannot be hidden anymore just like the biblical remark that a lamp cannot be lit and put under a bushel, but must be on top of a bed.
With what Amuwo Solution has achieved with their private resources, should RSA occupy the 41 Road, Festac Town office of Amuwo odofin Local Government Area as the chairman, the area will certainly be turned into a modern city comparable with anyone in the world.
RSA and Amuwo Solution are surely the peoples’ desire and mandate.
