ABEOKUTA– Frontline Youth Ambassador and Lawyer, Barr. Habeeb Whyte has described Hon. Wale Bello, an aspirant for the Chairman position in Abeokuta North Local Government as a life changer.
Habeeb made this known while speaking with Newsmen in Abeokuta when Youth under the aegis of Bello Youth Coalition (BYC) paid a surprise birthday and endorsement visit to Hon. Wale Bello at his Comprehensive Academy (COMPRO) school.
As the alumni President of comprehensive Academy, Barr. Habeeb Whyte stated that it took the intervention of the revered educationist to turn things around in his life.
“When I came to Comprehensive Academy I was a dullard, but thank God today I’m doing very well.
“Hon. Wale Bello is a man of so many parts. He is not only a teacher, but a parent. You should not be only teachers to students, be their parents.
I am a product of Hon.Wale bello, at a point in time I taught it was over, this was the man that told me you can make ir through education.
“Hon. Bello has done so many things in our lives that our parents can’t do. I’ll rather talk to Hon. Bello than my parents on some issues. It shows how closed we are. I have left compro for over 10years.
“I wish other teachers out there will emulate that kind of practice”, Whyte said
On the political aspirations of Hon. Wale Bello, the United Nations award winner said Abeokuta North Local Government is privileged to have a good product in Hon. Wale Bello, adding that he is the only aspirant with rooted indigenous background.
“This attempt is a deliberate one , it’s deliberate because, Hon. Bello has always believe in education. if you look at records, is only power and way as been on education most especially in Abeokuta North.
“This is a man of the soil, he has most everything in Abeokuta North, even his business.and we think he is the best man for the job.
“We know that by the grace of God he will emerge as the next local government Chaiman of Abeokuta North because we as Youth, we are galvanizing our self together to just be help the cause”
Barr. Habeeb Whyte therefore used the occasion of his mentor’s birthday to give back to the school which he said has given him so much by declaring a scholarship scheme for two students up to University of their choice.
“Instead of doing frame and so on, we need to start doing things that will last forever. That’s why in my own capacity as the alumni President, this year, we would give scholarships to two students in Abeokuta North.
“Students that believe they can never go school again, I am ready to sponsor their education from secondary school till their university level. I mean federal Universities of their choice. Either medicine, Engineering whichever one. I am ready to take it unbehalf of Hon. Wale Bello” he said
