ABEOKUTA– As part of plans to develop and discover new talents, the Ogun state government, in partnership with The Bosun Tijani Foundation have concluded plans to organise a Youth Basketball Festival.
This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta by the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka.
The commissioner stated that twelve teams across Nigeria, including Ogun State, will be competing in the festival, making it a vibrant and competitive atmosphere for all attendees.
The competition is slated for Friday, 19th to Sunday, 21st December 2025, at the refurbished Alake Sports Center, Ijeja in Abeokuta.
Expected dignitaries include the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, among others.
The commissioner therefore called on all sport fans across the state to come enjoy thrilling basketball encounters
“This festival promises to be an unforgettable experience, showcasing the talent and determination of our youth.
“Join us for a weekend filled with thrilling basketball action, community spirit, and celebration of our young athletes”, he said
