ABEOKUTA — A Non-governmental organisation, Olukayode Sotayo Foundation has commissioned a borehole facility in Ilagbe community, in Odeda Local Government area of Ogun state.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Olu of Odeda, Royal Majesty (Oba) David Ishola Olorunshola lauded the donor, while calling on other Sons and Daughter of the community to emulate same gesture.
The monarch retaraite that the borehole will bring relieve to the community and it’s environs, saying that efforts to get water in times part has been herculean.
“This is a good gesture from one of our son who is the diaspora, who before leaving the country was a politician.
” So, I am using this opportunity to call on other Sons and Daughters of this local government, who are in government to also remember their community for good “, he said
Meanwhile, a representative of the foundation, Sotayo Oluwaseun said it cost the foundation a little above four million to fulfil the promise made by the donor when he last visited the community in 2023.
He however call on government at all levels to look down to the rural dwellers by providing basic amenities to bring relieve to their pains.
“When my brother came here, he saw that the people had difficulty in getting water, so he promised to provide them with borehole.
“My appeal to government is to look into the plights of people living in the rural area. If they can do things like this, one after the other, it will bring relieve for the people.
A clergyman in the community, Rev. Steven Oluwaseun Fawale in his admonition commended the foundation to bringing relive for the people, stressing that God as a rewarder of good deeds will continue to uplight the foundation.
