ABEOKUTA- Former National President of the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Comrade Sunday Asefon has been declared a ‘personal non-grata’ in Ogun state by the coalition of student bodies in the state.
The bodies also warned the former student leader to halt his proposed visit to the state, saying that failure may result to a breakdown of law and order.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman, National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS) JCC Ogun, Comrade Adeyanju Francis Oluwafemi and other leaders of the body, it was alleged that Asefon visit is aim at promoting division within the students constituency, which according to them will be resisted.
Asefon, the present SSA to the President on Students Engagement was also alleged to have masterminded a protest against the state governor, Dapo Abiodun in Abuja, in the build up to the 2023 elections.
“The attention of the coalition of student bodies in Ogun State has been drawn to a proposed visit of Comrade Sunday Asefon to Ogun State.
“We received this information with total dismay and absolute rejection considering the role the said Asefon played in the build up to the 2023 general elections against the interest of prince Dapo Abiodun one out of several other reasons why Sunday Asefon had been declared Persona non grata in Ogun State
“The leadership of Ogun Student bodies is unanimously warning Sunday Asefon and some known security personnel to desist from further promoting division within the students constituency or be ready to face strict resistance from the Ogun Students community.
“Should Asefon be welcomed to the state there is total assurance of breakdown of law and order”, the statement reads
