Baruwa Not Fit To Lead NURTW– Iyeru

ABEOKUTA– The Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin-Iyeru-led Park Management Services-Ltd (PAM), on Thursday in Abeokuta staged a protest against the leadership of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), passing “vote of no confidence” on the NURTW Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa.

Addressing journalists during the protest, Iyeru said Baruwa lack what it takes to lead a noble union like NURTW.

“Alhaji Baruwa has done more damage than good to NURTW. This is not the NURTW we used to know. He is responsible for the crisis rocking the union in Ogun state. A leader must be selfless and be fair to his followers. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. Baruwa has no regards for union leaders, he is only interested in installing his stooge to carry out  some unpleasant routine jobs for him.

“He has failed his followers, he must resign for peace to reign in NURTW. We have held series of strategic meetings with critical stakeholders in the transportation sector in the southwest, Baruwa should resign from his position with immediate effect.

“I must commend Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state for his sterling leadership qualities. Gov. Abiodun is a peace loving governor who has been very supportive since he took over the mantle of leadership in 2019,”  he said.

Prominent union leaders such as Alhaji Haruna Adekunjo, Comrade Rafiu Odunyiga (Bintin Laye), Alhaji Yekini Moroof, Comrade Adenekan Lukman, Alhaji Bankole Akeem, Alhaji Akinwunmi Dauda and Alhaji Balogun Jamiu also corroborated Iyeru’s position by equally passing vote of no confidence on Alhaji Baruwa.
