ABEOKUTA–The All Progressives Congress (APC), state congress appeal committee siting in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital says it received no petition from members of the party during it’s two days sitting.
The chairman of the committee, Hon. Patrick Obayiagbon, stated this while briefing newsmen Wednesday after the end of it’s exercise in the state.
Hon. Patrick added that the no appeal status had further given credence to the Party state Congress held 16th October, 2021, adding that it shows that all members involved in the exercise were satisfied.
“Our core mandates was to receive, treats, review and attend to petitions if any, arising from the state congress that was conducted on the 16th of October, 2021.
“We met with the press when we arrived to also use the opportunity to announce the venue, days and time of the committee sitting and that we will sit for clear two days.
“We have sat for two days now and no person or persons have approached this state congress appeal committee with any petition.
“The circumstance of this view is that the Ogun State APC political class are satisfied that the state congress that took place on the 16th of October, 2021 which was in substantial compliance with both the constitution of APC, the extant regulations rolled out by the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and of course with the clear provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“What is left for us now is to write our report and submit to the CECPC of the APC and that, we intend to do and very timely, so that we too can meet the requisite timeline for this assignment”, the former lawmaker added.
