IBADAN– The industrial court sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Wednesday has vacated the Ex-parte Order obtained by some union members in Ogun State Council from the Ibadan Division of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria suspending the 7th Triennial Delegates Conference.
Recall that Mr Soji Amosu and Kunle Ewuoso has approached the court to stop the 7th triennial delegates Congress of the union slated for Umuahia, Abia state citing some irregularities in the set up of the credentials committee for the election.
It was also observed that the duo had withdrawn the same suit filed at the Lagos Division of the industrial court on same matter, on grounds of settling issues ‘in-house’.
It was however re-filed at the Ibadan division which the NUJ President claimed was an abuse of court process, and hitherto filed for a vacate.
The President of the Union, and candidate in the election, Comrade Chris Iziguzo congratulate members of the union, while welcoming them to the congress which according to him is to herald a new dawn for the union.
“To the Glory of God, the Ex-parte Order obtained by some union members in Ogun State Council from the Ibadan Division of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria suspending the 7th Triennial Delegates Conference has been vacated by the court in Ibadan today. With this, all encumbrances have been cleared.
“I therefore use this opportunity to welcome our teeming delegates from across the country to Umuahia, Abia State.
“In all, the Union is the winner as collective interest surpasses individual’s interest”, Isiguzo stated
