ABEOKUTA–The new Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 AIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo Wednesday paid a familiarization visit to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun at his Oke Mosan Office in Abeokuta.
The AIG stated that the visit was in realization of Governor Abiodun’s resultful approach in making sure the State is crime-free
He also commend Governor Abiodun’s foresightedness, particularly in the area of Information dissemination through the provision of effective communication room which has made security operations seamless and also enhanced the output of the entire Police Force in the State
“Ogun State is a familiar terrain and as the pioneer commander of the Quick Response Squad of the Nigeria Police Force in the State, I feel so proud to move round the State where I once served as errand boy… feeling so blessed now as AIG Zone 2″
He therefore pledged his unwavering commitment and plans to flush out criminal elements in the State, adding that acts of cultism would be nip in the bud and adequate security on both land and waterways will be provided with time to time Air surveillance operations to be given utmost priority
Receiving the new AIG, Governor Abiodun re-emphasizes the comparative advantages Ogun State has as the Industrial Capital of Nigeria and the only neighbour Lagos State has among the committee of States in the federation hence the Government’s proactiveness at ensuring all round growth of the State’s Security architecture
The Governor added that any act of insecurity is considered an effort that is aimed at sabotaging Government’s determination to rid the State off act of criminality
While maintaining that the State Government shall continue to provide adequate support for all the security outfits in the State, Governor Dapo Abiodun stated that security is one of the key enablers in Government’s agenda which was targeted at creating enabling environment for businesses to thrive thereby providing effective Public, Private Partnership
Governor Abiodun pointed out that the creation of the State Amotekun Corps was in line with his commitment and unrelenting effort towards eradicating the menace of kidnap and other act of insecurity in all parts of the rural areas
