ABEOKUTA– The Central Coordinate Movement (CCM) a political support group has constituted a new executive to coordinate its affairs in the diaspora, with Hon. Oladimeji Monsuru Odewole, popularly known as Tambo Cuba, emerging as Chairman, Diaspora Affairs.
Odewole, while expressing appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and other members of the executive, called on members of the movement across the diaspora to embrace love, peace, understanding and mutual respect.
The new executive, according to the organisation, is expected to coordinate members and activities outside Nigeria and strengthen communication, discipline and effective administration within the diaspora structure.
Other members of the newly constituted executive include Mr. Kehinde Elewide, Vice Chairman; Mr. Babatunde Adeleye, Financial Secretary; Mr. Ademola Adenekan, Chief Whip; Mr. Eddie Felix, General Secretary; Mr. Afeez Afuape, Legal Adviser; and Mr. Samod, Public Relations Officer.
While the Vice Chairman, Elewide, is expected to assist the Chairman and act in his absence, Adeleye will be responsible for keeping records of funds received and payments made by the organisation.
Adenekan, as Chief Whip, will oversee discipline, attendance and compliance with the organisation’s rules, while Felix, as General Secretary, will handle records, correspondence and meetings.
Afuape will serve as Legal Adviser, providing legal guidance to the movement when necessary, while Samod, as Public Relations Officer, will be responsible for publicity, announcements and public communication.
Speaking on his appointment, Odewole described the responsibility as a call to service rather than a mere political or organisational title.
He said, “This appointment is not merely a title; it is a responsibility. I accept it with humility, dedication and a sincere commitment to work for the progress of CCM and to represent our members in the diaspora with dignity.”
The new chairman urged members to avoid allowing disagreements to degenerate into personal attacks or division, stressing that differences of opinion should be handled through dialogue and mutual understanding.
“We may not always agree on every issue, but disagreement must never become disrespect. Our differences should help us learn from one another, not divide us,” he said.
Odewole also warned against insults, threats, belittling remarks and abusive language among members, saying discipline and mutual respect were necessary for the organisation to achieve its objectives.
“Respect is not proven simply by calling someone ‘brother’ or ‘senior brother’. True respect is shown in the way we speak, the way we respond and the way we treat one another,” he stated.
He said the new executive would work collectively to promote unity, fairness, peaceful communication and organisational development, while encouraging every member to contribute to the growth of the movement.
The chairman particularly emphasised the importance of maintaining harmonious relationships between senior and younger members, noting that experience should be respected while younger members should also be given room to contribute meaningfully.
Odewole said, “I preach love because love will help us continue developing our community. I preach peace because peace will help us work together without conflict. I preach understanding because understanding will help us listen to one another and resolve issues with wisdom.”
He further urged members of the diaspora to see CCM as a collective platform and put the interests of the movement above personal differences.
According to him, the newly constituted executive would focus on building an organised, disciplined and united diaspora structure capable of communicating effectively with members and contributing to the broader objectives of CCM.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of CCM for the confidence reposed in him and the other members of the executive, promising that the team would approach the assignment with humility, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.
Odewole, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Dimofeshy Multi Investment Limited, said he was optimistic that the new executive would usher in greater coordination and unity among CCM members outside Nigeria.
He called on all members to support the new executive, saying the success of the diaspora structure would depend on collective responsibility and cooperation.
“Let us put love first. Let us put peace first. Let us put respect first. No one deserves to be disrespected. We are one movement, one community and one family working toward a greater future,” he said.
The chairman prayed for divine guidance for the new executive and the entire membership, while expressing confidence that the new structure would contribute significantly to the continued growth and development of the Central Coordinate Movement.
