ABEOKUTA– A member of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), Ogun State Council has advised the embattled Chairman of the Union, Comrade Ismail Oladipupo Sanyaolu to stop issuing statements that is inimical to the Union’s interests.
In a statement made available to newsmen, a member who prefers anonymity, while referencing the Chairman’s recent rejoinder to the allegation of absconding the country, he said “it is high time Sanyaolu should hide his face and stop fooling himself thinking that he is fooling people. His productivity as an Administrative Officer in the Ogun State Civil Service should be questioned.
“His press releases/statements since the commencement of this crisis are incoherent and short of logical reasoning. Maybe he has forgotten that a Press statement was made by his State Assistant Secretary, Comrade Kamil Ilyas notifying members that the State Chairman, Comrade Ismail Oladipupo Sanyaolu has proceeded on a vacation and has handed over the affairs of the Union to the illegally appointed State Auditor, Com. Folashade Omoyele with effective 18th August, 2025, and one now wondered why the handing over of affairs since he is within the shore of the country, as claimed by him in his video release”.
“From all indications, it is evident that Mr. Sanyaolu is only trying to cover up that he travelled outside the shore of Nigeria knowing fully well that he had violated some provisions of the Ogun State Public Service Rules, Revised to 1st May, 2003 where it was expressly stated that any officer of the Public/Civil Service who intends to travel outside the country to enjoy his/her annual leave or any visit whatsoever must secure the approval of the Head of Service before such travelling is being embarked upon”, he added.
While stressing further, he berated the Chairman and his cohorts for their incoherent reactions to this particular allegation. He said “it is of utmost importance to reiterate that the illegally appointed and non-existing State Auditor, Comrade Folashade Omoyele issued a Press release where she confirmed that the State Chairman was truly on vacation and there must not be vacuum in that position hence the reason she was appointed as Acting State Chairman. By implication, which vacuum was being envisaged when he did not travel outside the shore of Nigeria? Could it be said that Administrator Sanyaolu did not know this before coming out to deny his travel allegation? If yes, then there’s a need to question how he passed the Local Legislation Examination during the Compulsory Examination he sat for as an Administrative Officer some years ago”.
“He should also be ready to explain to the world where it was also stated that he, as the State Chairman shall handover the seat of power to any other members of the State Administative Council except the Vice Chairman whenever there is need for him to be absent for a while, rather he handed the affairs over to a two (2) weeks old appointee who has never had an experience as a State Administrative Council (SAC) member, leaving other elected officials”.
“As a matter of emphasis, Ogun State has more than thirty (30) registered Trade/Labour Unions, and why is it that only NCSU led by Sanyaolu is always in the news being accused of one thing or the other at every point in time such as sleeping with female members before he could grant them loans from their hard-earned savings to meet immediate and urgent needs, misuse of power, granting loans to outsiders and non-financial members, embezzlement and financial impropriety. Se ko ni itiju ni?”.
“On the premises of the above, the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya is being called upon, as a matter of urgency, to wade into the current crisis that has bedeviled the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), Ogun State Council which if not checked, could escalate beyond control and possibly consume the Union beyond repairs”, he concluded.
