Prioritize Your Physical Well-Being, Clergyman Urges Christians

ABEOKUTA– A clergyman, Apostle Alade Famodimu of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Surulere District, Onikoko, Abeokuta has urged Christians to take as important their physical well-being, just as they hold high their spiritual welfare.

Apostle Famodimu stated this on the sideline of the church sports fiesta, held weekend, at the Alake Sports Center, Ijeja in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The event which is to celebrate the 17th year harvest of the Youth Fellowship, featured different games, which includes a 5-aside football, table tennis, drafts, monopoly, Ludo and aerobics exercise.

Apostle Famodimu added that apart from spiritual development, chriatians must also lay more emphasis on regular exercise, while advising the youths to shun social vices capable of destroying their future.

“This program is just to encourage the youth in our church. It’s not only the spiritual aspect of our life that matters, but the physical activities matter a lot. And that’s why they’re here to play football, basketball, handball and so on and so forth.

“It is the body that covers the spirit. If the body is not in a good condition, it can affect our longevity”, he said.

Meanwhile, the shepherd in charge of the youth fellowship, Soyoye Olalekan advised the youth to be careful of the use of social media, saying that their time and efforts should be channeled towards edification of the church and their families.

“My advice to the youth is that they should not follow bandwagon, especially on social media. They should be very, very careful because there a lot of things that are going on in the social media that one has to be very, careful about.

“So, they should devote their lives to Christ and at same time the way they behave, they should watch what they do because other people are watching them. The younger ones are looking up to them”, he added
