Emphasize More On Vocational Education To Curb Unemployment — TLF tells FG

ABEOKUTA– In a bid to reduce the prevailing unemployment rate in the country, a non-governmental organisation, Tinubu Legacy Forum (TLF) has called on the federal government and other stakeholders in the education sector to emphasize more on vocational education.

The Ogun State Coordinator of the group, Akinbode Olusola stated this at the 25th school in the tie and dye training for students of Mayflower, Ikenne, under the supervision of the state’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

In his remarks, he stated the vision of the BOT Chairman Alh. Ganiyu Akeem Adesina on vocational training and maintained that the country must engage on youth empowerment in other to reduce her unemployment rates, a deliberate effort must be channeled towards encouraging vocational education through proper funding and monitoring.

He alluded that educational pursuit without commensurate job placement will lead to social menace, adding that the white collar job syndrome is no more in trend.

“We must begin to lay more importance on vocational trainings, as the days of white collar jobs is no more with us. It is what an individual does with his hands that matters now.

“At Tinubu Legacy Forum, it is our sincere believe that, a well trained citizenry will meaningfully contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, hence this kampala training programme will continue across the three senatorial district of Ogun State, immediately the school resumes for the 2023/2024 academic session in September.

“We will continue to prepare our children, who are the future of this country, to be self independent and employer of labour”, he added
