Ogun Amotekun In ‘Show Of Force’, Declares War On Criminals

 

ABEOKUTA– The Ogun state security outfit, Amotekun Corps has declared total war on all criminal elements operating in the state, saying that the corps is now adequately equipped.

Speaking with newsmen, weekend during the ‘show of force’ around the state capital metropolis, the corps commandant, Brigadir-General Alade Adedigba (Rtd), added that with its’ new security gadgets, the corps can attend swiftly to any breach of law and order.

Adedigba however assured residents of safety of life and property during the yuletide season, adding that the rising cases of cult related crimes will soon be a thing of the past.

“The primary objective of this is to showcase our capability in terms of men, equipments and materials of the agencies and to let the people know that during the period of the Yuletide, the agency is ready to maintain safety, security of people and lives in the state.

“You have to agree with me that during the festive periods, there will be a lot of massive movement of people from one place to another, there will be a lot gatherings, in term of organizing parties, religious activities and others , there is no doubt about the fact we are going to have some elements of criminality and miscreants too.

“And for you to forestall that from happenings you need to be proactive and proactivenes means, we have to reaccess our security strategy so that we will be able to nip in bud if there is going to be any security breaches.

“We have paraded several vehicles, motor bikes and this is to show that where there are issues, we will always respond swiftly and that is exactly what we have demonstrated”, he said

The commandant lauded the state government for empowering the agency with technological equipments, which according to the commandant has assisted in easing the job of his men.

‘Within my last four months of my appointment, the state government actually assisted and empowered the agency in term of men and materials and equipment to do our job”, he added
