Ogun State Government on Tuesday haa disclosed that it has recorded one new case of Covid-19 in the state, adding that the figure of recorded cases in the State is now four since the outbreak of the virus in Nigeria last February 28.
The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Tomi Coker disclosed this while briefing journalists at the Ministry office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, adding that the new index case is a 30 – year – old lady and has tested positive.
Coker said that two of the four COVID – 19 cases in state have been discharged while 72 contacts are being closely monitored.
According to the Health Commissioner, Ogun State has 24 ventilators comprising 14 ready to use and 10 other pieces aa backup.
“Yesterday we had the commissioning of a 128 beded isolation center at ikenne which today is the largest facility in the country and then last night we had a confirmed positive new case of covid-19 who is a 30year old female and a contact of the 3rd case.
“So far in the state we have run 16 tests in which we have 4 positive, the 4 positive are actually two clusters. Second case was the contact of the first one and the 4th case is the contact of the 3rd. And I have said it that we have run 16 tests, 4 positive and 15 negative and 6 are pending”
“We also have contact trace of 112 in the in which 40 have completed their 14 days and we are actively following up 72 cases”.
