ABEOKUTA– The Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, HRM Oba Lukman Adeleke Kuoye has congratulated Governor Dapo Abiodun on his victory at the Court of Appeal, which affirm him as the winner of the March 18 poll in Ogun.
The monarch in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen through his Media Consultant, Hakeem Adegbenro stated that the judgement laid credence to the affirmation and votes of the people.
Recall that the Ogun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta had on September 30, 2023, upheld Abiodun’s declaration as the winner of the March 18, governorship election.
Oba Kuoye therefore urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory, saying that the appellate court judgement should further spur him to continue in the ISEYA agenda of his administration.
“I want to congratulate governor Dapo Abiodun on this latest judgement from the appeal court sitting in Lagos, which further affirm his election victory, after the tribunal.
“It is a thing of joy to win at the poll and the court, but winning the heart of millions of Ogun state Indigenes should therefore be the next thing on the agenda. The ISEYA agenda should therefore be pursue more than ever before.
“More people oriented development should be brought to fore, and let the people feel the impart of their resounding votes of March 18, 2023”, Oba Kuoye said
In a majority judgement delivered in Lagos, by the duo of Justices J.S. Ikyegh and Muhammed Mustapha, the appellate court dismissed the appeal brought before it by the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the state, Hon. Ladi Adebutu.
The court held that the appeal lacked merit as it found no substance in it and subsequently dismissed it, affirming the earlier decision of the Tribunal without costs.
